THE ROLE

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, BMI Group has identified the need to develop future leaders in the across its business. We are looking for a highly competent and motivated Planning and Logistics Graduate to be part of a high-performance team joining our 2-year Graduate Programme.
You will join as one of our Planning, Logistics & Warehouse (PLW) Team. In PLW, we ensure that we supply our products with the right quality and quantity and at the right time to our customers. This is a critical role in Supply Planning area to optimize our stock transfer process to increase service to customers and optimize cost in our business.
Your personal and professional development will be supported by our Early Careers recruitment partner Discovery’s ‘Aspiring Leaders’ programme providing you with a blended approach to learning through experiential workshops, online learning forums and an experienced coach.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will operate across the Planning, Logistics and Warehouse team both within the UK & Ireland business and, offering experience at several of our production sites. It will provide you with an enviable opportunity to learn from and contribute to:
•            Involvement in 13-week inventory planning at production sites
•            Reviewing and optimizing production site capacity and ordering patterns of key products
•            Optimizing shipment planning for roofing systems consists of different items from separate production sites.
•            Working with the BMI Sales, Marketing and Transportation departments to understand demand generation
•            Learning and executing the process to optimize full load stock transfer between warehouses
•            Liaising with Demand Planning to create a process to plan for customer projects ensuring that project forecasts can be identified separately from day-to-day sales.
•            Understanding our planning software, SAP, and updating it to ensure all data is loaded accurately and in a timely manner
As part of the candidate’s future development Planning and Logistics Graduates will be provided with study support towards qualification and membership of a recognised body (e.g. IoSCM).

THE INDIVIDUAL

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Planning and Logistics Graduate to join our team. To be successful you will:
•            Be on track or have achieved, a 2:1 degree (or higher) in a related discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Business or Economics
•            Evidence good problem-solving skills and thrive under the challenge of doing so
•            Have an inquisitive and forward-thinking mindset, who is always looking to learn and develop
•            Be numerate and analytical – Handle numbers and numerical tasks confidently and effectively and comfortable and competent in managing large datasets.
•            Possess the ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels within, and outside the organisation 
•            Be confident in building effective working relationships and working as part of a team.
•            Possess excellent leadership skills & self-starting capabilities demonstrating creativity & strategic understanding
•            Be able to pick up and deliver projects, with the ability to work unsupervised
•            Have a flexible approach and responsible attitude to work and driving development
•            Be prepared to challenge appropriately and professionally
•            Evidence of passion and achievements in academic and/or non- academic activities
•            Show great attention to detail with an accurate and thorough approach to work
•            Be PC Literate
•            Be flexible to travel around the UK&I for short periods would be desirable
