Finance Graduate

Main Responsibilities


As part of the UK and Ireland Tarmac Finance team, you as a Finance Graduate will participate in our 2-year graduate scheme, helping you to make decisions to deliver business impact, present powerfully, communicate effectively and many more key skills. Throughout your time as a Finance Graduate you will conduct a number of rotations though different departments which will be tailored towards your strengths and interests. This means that you will be exposed to many different areas of Finance where you will be able to apply the knowledge you gain towards achieving your professional qualification. You will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving. An exciting role where you can see the output of your hard work all around you (quite literally!)​

Key focus of Finance Graduate positionnot exhaustive:

  • Learn all about Finance, gaining an understanding of the manufacturing and production via a dedicated Tarmac development programme and the CRH international Finance programme
  • Whilst your 2 years will primarily be based in one place, you will then be expected to gain valuable experience in “Hubs” across our UK and Ireland Cluster; or participate in an exciting international assignment
  • Support with studying and funding to achieve your Professional Qualification such as: ACCA, CIMA or ACA
  • Building a strong understanding of the core purpose of the Finance function by getting involved varied activities to include monthly reporting and budgeting ​
  • Establishing and leading relationships with both the business and finance communities
  • Supporting the business to make the right decisions to improve profitability, customer experience and drive business performance
  • Working to partner the business to set targets and reporting on performance and challenging decisions ​
  • Using various systems and software to perform a wide variety of analysis​
  • Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed​!
Key Operational Colleagues you will liaise with in this role of Finance Graduate:
  • Director of Finance – Regional Heads of Finance - Shared Services Teams – SOx Compliance Teams - Business Managers - Procurement and Support teams - Area Operations and Commercial teams – Industry Bodies - Customers
 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful for this role the ideal candidate for the position of Finance Graduate will have, or be able to demonstrate:
ESSENTIAL Qualification
  • Completed degree (no minimum classification) in finance, economics or STEM discipline discipline
  • Willing to work in different locations across UK and Ireland (and international assignments in the future)
DESIRABLE Skills
  • Organisational, Communication and Analytical skills
  • Motivated and loves a challenge
  • Enthusiastic about starting a career in the financial area of the building materials industry!
