Trainee Teacher of Economics and Business

We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic graduate who shares our vision of teaching as a vocation, and who will seize an exciting opportunity to teach Economics & Business to the Upper School. This is a two-year fixed-term post. In the first year the successful candidate will teach a reduced timetable and will receive training at Rugby School. In the second year the successful candidate will continue to teach a reduced timetable while also completing an IPGCE with an external teacher training provider. The School will fund and support this training.

Alongside A Levels, the School is delighted to offer all students the chance to study the IB Diploma, a programme closely aligned with Rugby’s ethos of developing the whole person. Rugby is renowned for its highly successful and innovative approach to education. As a coaching school we are looking for staff who are committed to a professional obligation to improve as teachers and who value personal growth.

The School is a boarding and day school in full operation seven days per week including evenings during term time. Pastoral, co-curricular, cultural and sports activities take place outside normal day-school hours. All staff are expected to make a full contribution. The salary for this post is £22,000 p.a. and additional shortage subject salary premium is available for this role. Accommodation is provided.
