Finance Assistant

We are seeking a Finance Assistant who is interested in starting a career with our established and progressive law firm.

You will be joining a friendly team and reporting directly to the Finance Manager who will encourage you to work using your own initiative whilst providing the support you need to develop and succeed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and review remittance advices and distribute throughout the firm
  • Preparation of payments to clients, by importing and posting transactions
  • Record cheques received and bank cheques when requested
  • Monitor daily card payments report
  • Maintain the bank details database
  • Assist colleagues in the Finance Team with maintenance of ledgers
  • Accurately raise invoices in volume
  • Dealing with queries from colleagues around the business
  • Assist with other clerical and administrative duties within the team

Your duties will involve working with Microsoft Office applications and our own case and practice management software, so a confidence around IT systems including Microsoft Excel is essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Teamwork and supporting colleagues is really important to us so you will need to be a genuine team player who can communicate well with your fellow team members and other teams within the Company. You will be highly organised with a 'can do' attitude and someone who takes a pride in getting the task completed well and on time.

You should have an eye for detail and be capable of producing timely and accurate work within a busy office environment.

Normal working days are Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week
