GBP 6547 Student Funding Graduate Business Partner

Job Summary
 
The Student Funding Team at the university have a new graduate opportunity for an organised individual to assist with triaging and processing applications for financial support through the Success for All Fund. You will handle sensitive data, be methodical and have a professional manner in written communications.
 
This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and offers full-time hours for 6 months. There is a hybrid working arrangement for flexibility with access to offices on Streatham Campus in Exeter, and you will have access to a competitive range of benefits.

Purpose of the Role
 
The purpose of the role is to support the Student Funding Team in their work to process and allocate bursaries, hardship funds and other funding through the Success for All Fund. This role will also support related widening participation activity (e.g. administration of the Student Funding Working Group; supporting pre-applicant student funding advice sessions etc)


Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Work to support activities identified by the Student Funding Team to support processing activity
  • Work with colleagues to respond to student enquiries and gather evidence in support of applications
  • Provide high quality general administration support for the work of the team
  • Work under supervision to process applications for funding through the Success for All Fund
  • Help plan communications to enhance the applicant experience e.g. FAQs, web content and other resources as required
  • Support the work of the WP Team as required in organizing student financial advice sessions; dealing with student enquiries or creating information resources.

  • You will meet with your line manager formally on a weekly basis, but will also be supported by other members of ESS and/or academic colleagues on an informal basis.

About You (Person Specification)

Attainments/Qualifications
  • A graduate from a UK university from the last 3 years and the degree can be in any subject.

 

Skills and Understanding

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Able to manage a varied and demanding workload and to work to quickly changing deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • An interest in student learning experience

Prior Experience

  • Desirable to have been involved in any change projects, project management, event organising.
  • Desirable to have evidence of working with academic or student colleagues in capacity as class rep, or similar roles.

Personal Qualities and Attributes

  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a small team, prioritising appropriately
  • Able to effectively communicate with lots of different members of the university community, students, academic colleagues and senior managers.

Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) Scheme Requirements
  • To undertake a graduate role through the GBP scheme, you must have either achieved your degree or be in your final year at any UK-based university.
  • If you are in your final year, your working hours may be reduced to 15 hours per week (for undergraduates) or 6 hours per week (for postgraduates) to ensure you have the capacity to successfully complete your degree. More hours can be completed if your academic agrees and provides written confirmation.
  • If you do not pass your degree, the GBP role will end early.
  • You must have graduated in the UK within the last 3 years of your most recent degree (we will consider extenuating circumstances of potential applicants that may have prevented them from undertaking a graduate role within 3 years of graduation).
