GBP 6548 Global Classrooms Project Coordinator

Job Summary
 
The Teaching Quality Assurance & Enhancement team at the university are looking for a recent graduate to support the development of global classroom initiatives, identified as a priority in our Strategy 2030. You will work with academics to identify areas for development and work on the activities that will set development plans into motion. This is a great opportunity to gain project management experience in a HE environment with an opportunity to access specialist training.
 
This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and offers 36.5 hours per week until the end of July 2023 with access to a range of competitive benefits. There is a hybrid working arrangement in place with offices located in Northcott house on Streatham Campus in Exeter.

Purpose of the Role
 
You will support the development of global classroom initiatives at the University, identified as a priority in our Strategy 2030. Our vision is that through online educational initiatives working with their peers across the world, our students will gain intercultural, digital, communication and teamwork skills, empowering them to become global citizens and enhancing their employability. These opportunities can be available to all students without the need to travel.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
You will:
 
  • Work with staff in our faculties to identify opportunities for global classroom activity, including development of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) modules.
  • Develop a set of design principles, a costing framework and process map for colleagues planning and delivering COIL modules.
  • Review, collate and help to develop global classroom training and resources for staff and students.
  • Support establishment of a global classroom Community of Practice.
  • Consider and develop connections to existing priorities, projects and processes at the University (e.g. Transformative Education Framework).

Attainments/Qualifications

  • You should have graduated from a UK-based university in the last 3 years.

About the University Department

Teaching Quality Assurance and Enhancement (TQAE) focuses on strategic development with the academic and professional services communities, with particular attention to achieving the goals of the Education Strategy. The division is made up of Academic Development & Skills, Education Incubator, Programme Development, Quality and Standards and Technology Enhanced Learning.
This team is part of Education and Academic Services (EAS) which brings together all the key administration and educational support that underpins our students’ experience. Building upon solid foundations, and now with the exciting addition of sports colleagues, the division will work collaboratively to create the conditions for student and academic success.


Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) Scheme Requirements 
 
  • To undertake a graduate role through the GBP scheme, you must have either achieved your degree or be in your final year at any UK-based university.  
  • If you are in your final year, your working hours may be reduced to 15 hours per week (for undergraduates) or 6 hours per week (for postgraduates) to ensure you have the capacity to successfully complete your degree. More hours can be completed if your academic agrees and provides written confirmation. 
  • If you do not pass your degree, the GBP role will end early. 
  • You must have graduated in the UK within the last 3 years of your most recent degree (we will consider extenuating circumstances of potential applicants that may have prevented them from undertaking a graduate role within 3 years of graduation).
