Graduate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Touchline fabrications Limited are an established highly, reputable structural steel company based in Preston who undertake a diverse range of projects on a nationwide basis.
 
We are looking to develop our existing management team. In order to do this, we are looking to recruit a new team member within our office who can learn all aspects of our trade and can develop as an asset to the business and their own success.

The position will involve both Estimating and Quantity surveying, working in a small friendly team, reporting to the head of operations, professional and personal development will be supported. It is an exciting opportunity for an intermediate level estimator/ quantity surveyor to further their career.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collation of client’s requirements and specifications from tender documentation.
  • Carrying out accurate take-offs and bill of quantities
  • Producing quotations, specifications and contracts
  • Aiding our sales team to secure tenders
  • Liaising with commercial and self-build clients to revise contracts and specifications
  • Support operations to assist in the building of the programme of works.
  • Qualifying suppliers and sub-contractors to maintain our high-quality standards
  • Procurement for factory stock and site materials.
  • Preparation and management of installation sub-contractor packages from contracts to payment notices/certificates
  • Manage job costing throughout each project from design to completion and producing regular financial reports for management meetings.
We are looking for applicants that have:
  • Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent in a construction related field
  • Passion for modern methods of construction (MMC)
  • Well skilled in the use of a variety of computer programmes, Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Ability to read structural engineer drawings, scopes and specifications and produce take offs
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good commercial acumen and negotiating skills
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues
  • Have a great personality
  • This is an office based position and candidates must be able to commute daily. We will not consider re-locations
