Facilities Assistant

Post title: Facilities Assistant - Two positions available
SBU/Department: Department of Estates / Campus Services
 
FTE: 1.0 FTE (working 37 hours per week)
Duration of contract: Permanent
Salary: UH3 £21,630 per annum with potential to progress to £22,149 per annum by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Location: College Lane campus, Hatfield
 
The Department of Estates is looking for a customer service focused and proactive individual to work within the Campus Services Team. 
 
Main duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working in the team which completes a range of Facilities Tasks. The tasks can include:
 
·        Portering: To be involved in manual handling activities across the University, these can include office moves, classrooms resets, or the moving of equipment.
·        Post and Goods: To support with the delivering of post and goods across the University.
·        Signage: To support with the delivery of the temporary and reactive signage
·        Audits: To complete a range of audits requested by the Facilities Team such as building audits, or utilisation audits.
·        Events: The role involves supporting with a range of university events from setting up, event support, and clear down.
 
Skills and experience required
The successful candidate must have an excellent customer service manner. They will have the ability to follow a scheduled work pattern but take a proactive approach to tasks. The role involves working in a team, but the individual should be comfortable working on their own.
 
You should have the skill to complete the manual handling tasks, and an attention to detail for the auditing part of the role. The successful individual will have a can-do attitude and should be able demonstrate a willingness to support across a range of tasks and activities.
 
You will need to have proven professional experience or the ability to demonstrate you can complete all parts of the job and have good communication skills.
 
A driving licence is an essential requirement for this job
 
Qualifications
It is a desirable to hold GCSEs grade C/grade 4 or above in Maths and English, or proven experience
