Learning Support Worker

What does a Learning Support Worker at JigsawPlus do?
Our Learning Support Team work both individually and within small groups with autistic learners aged 18 and over to develop knowledge and skills that will enhance their wellbeing, independence and social inclusion. Learning Support Workers use behaviour driven teaching strategies and interventions to encourage positive outcomes and track progress for our learners. This all takes place in our purpose-built Centre for Lifelong Learning and out in our local community, where learners can put their skills to practice and attend leisure & educational activities and work experience.

Fully Funded - Training and Development
  • NCFE CACHE Level 3 & 5 in Adult Social Care
  • Behaviour specific qualifications including Teaching Accreditations, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA) and Masters in Behaviour Analysis
  • Care Certificate
  • PROACT-SCIPr-UK Certification
  • Care Industry Training including first aid, epilepsy, safeguarding, emergency medication and much more

What do you need?
  • Professional, personal, voluntary or work experience of working with adults or young people with disabilities
  • Positive, patient and can-do attitude
  • Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations and build good working relationships with learners, parents and staff
  • Comfortable supporting others with challenging behaviour and personal/intimate care
