Teaching Assistant

A classroom assistant is an ideal role for if you are looking to gain valuable experience within an education setting, before embarking upon teacher training.

The school is based close by to the centre of Sheffield and can be easily accessed via the parkway. Being close by to the town centre, the school can also be accessed via several forms of public transport from neighbouring areas such as Rotherham.

Job expectations:

Full-time and part-time flexible opportunities available from September 2023.

Opportunity to gain experience in a variety of Secondary schools across the area of South Yorkshire.

Supporting the learning of pupils across all subject areas.

Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher on occasion.

Aid students in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis when withdrawn from the classroom for extra support.

Earn up to £400 per week, depending on experience.

Previous or transferrable experience working within education desirable.

Working as a Classroom Assistant in our client schools, responsibilities may include working with children who require additional support including students who may display challenging behaviour. You may be required to support the class teacher and cover pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher on occasion. There will also be a possibility of supporting students who require additional support and pupils who display challenging behaviour which may require you to work in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with identified pupils within subjects such as English, Maths and Science.
