Graduate HSE Advisor

In this role, you'll have a variety of responsibilities that contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. It's important that everyone understands and follows the Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and you'll play a key role in ensuring this. You'll also assist in complying with our HSE policies, legislation, and best practices. You’ll collaborate with the HSE Advisors in supporting the HSE audit process will be a key part of your role.

In the event of accidents, you'll support the HSE&G Team in conducting investigations where appropriate. Additionally, you'll assist leaders in conducting various risk assessments, including workplace, fire, task-based, and individual assessments.

Promoting a positive HSE culture is another important aspect of this role. Your effective engagement and support for agreed campaigns and initiatives will help create a positive environment. We value innovation, so you'll have the opportunity to assist the HSE Leadership team in creating HSE annual campaigns and initiatives focused on best practices and targeting key trends across Drax Scottish Assets.

Lastly, you'll play a crucial part in the implementation and continuous improvement of our HSE management system. Your contributions will help us maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all.

About you
To thrive in this role, it would be quite beneficial to possess an HNC or an equivalent qualification in a related HSE discipline. Being able to effectively convey your thoughts and ideas both in spoken and written form is of utmost importance.

Additionally, consistently projecting a calm and composed demeanour, particularly in challenging circumstances, is crucial. Having a strong level of drive, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, would be a great asset. Furthermore, possessing robust analytical capabilities and the ability to practically apply health and safety environmental legislation are highly valued. Lastly, being able to work independently and effectively manage your own workload is essential.
